-Background:

    Ryan grew up in the Kalos region, raised by his grandparents due to domestic problems having torn his biological parents apart with his father disappearing at Ryan’s birth, while his mother thought it best to give the child up given the circumstances in which he was born from. His mother’s parents decided to take the cyndaquil themselves. A very quiet and studious child, many people probably wouldn’t have even noticed that he existed if he wasn’t forced to socialize with his peers at school. During his free time when he wasn’t at school, the cyndaquil would often exercise while studying, more interested in learning and expanding his thoughts rather than take up interest with the social pseudo-politics on the school yard playground, even through highschool.

    Almost immediately as soon his middle and highschool educations were completed, Ryan moved onto an esteemed university, excelling in his studies with his grandparents paying for a double major for both electrical and chemical engineering. The now-quilava was fine with his overall lack of social life throughout his university years outside of his tutoring his peers. He had intended to earn a master in both of his majors to eventually use the future resulting status to track down and force his long-gone father to see him, but instead found a new passion: instructing others and helping them learn, helping them understand things that they had trouble with, expanding their minds. Redirecting the focus of his studies slightly, Ryan graduated from the university and quickly had landed a job not long after at a high school in Santalune purely from the lofty qualifications that he had under his belt.

    A freshly-evolved typhlosion, Ryan began his life as a highschool teacher. It was a little difficult at first since he was inexperienced in teaching children, but he was passionate about introducing excited young minds to topics to grow with and learn. However, something was still missing. Ryan soon found himself starved to learn more himself, soon enrolling himself into medical courses about physical fitness and medicine. It wasn’t long until he had received a medical degree to add to his small bundle of accomplishments that he came across the next big milestone in his life as he pulled her out of the street from an oncoming bus just outside of the school that he taught in. 

    The typhlosion certainly wasn’t an expert at relationships since he himself hadn’t even been in one for more than a month before deciding that he was just too busy to date, but even he could see that something was wrong with the grovyle. She seemed too nervous and kept fidgeting, eyes meeting everything around herself but him, even though he had just saved her from being put into the hospital. Ryan couldn’t see anything physically wrong with her, but given her body language, something told him that there was definitely something wrong. Upon prying the young serpentine woman’s muzzle open a bit, he found out that her name was Chuey, and she was on the run from her boyfriend, who had left their apartment in the rundown part of town that had gone to the bar after yet another loud, angry fight, that nearly ended in blows, and certainly wouldn't be fun returning home to. He knew nothing about this young woman past her name and that small scrap of information, but it was enough to cause the more tender side of the typhlosion’s heart to weep for her misfortune, and offered to let her stay with him. He had no roommate, and he certainly wasn’t scrapping for cash given his job that paid well enough. It took a bit of convincing the cautious lass, but after a little while Ryan had managed to convince her to grab her belongings from her current place of residence and helped move them to his.

    The two fell hard and fast for each other not long after that despite the somewhat steep age gap, and they were married a couple of years later. On their honeymoon in Alola, the pair decided to stay in the tropical region, as both of them enjoyed the warm air more than the cold city, and Ryan had been offered a job researching and engineering a new kind of medicine after a chance encounter with some lab workers. Moving their belongings to the sunny region, the two quickly and happily settled into their new home. Not long after, they decided that it was time to start a family. Unfortunately, the pair didn’t seem compatible to have their own children, and instead turned to adopting, several times. Ryan loved the idea of having a large family, and Chuey had always been particularly protective and loving towards kids that had gone through situations similar to what all she had.

    What felt like a short time later, Ryan was contacted by a prestigious school located in a region near his own home region of Kalos – a Pokemon Academy, that had heard of his researching and advanced engineering projects, and they had expressed interest in having the typhlosion teach some courses at their school. He nearly refused, but the academic institution informed him that it would be only for a short while each school day, and they saw no problem with him commuting via one of his daughter’s pet psychic pokemon. Thrilled that could continue researching medicine to help others, continue living in this warm sunny paradise with his family, and have the opportunity to teach students again, Ryan gladly accepted the offer.

    Since then, Ryan had left the Academy's staff roster after something coming up in this other work that needed him. He visits his children at the school whenever he can.
